Wifi and Hub: An internet connection (Tab's Version)

One day while playing around on my favorite social networking site, I noticed I had a friend request from a random, scary looking guy who looked like a terrorist. After doing a little research and realizing he was not a terrorist, I accepted his request (with no intention of actually talking to him) After a few weeks of reading his rather humorous and witty posts, I decided to comment on one of them. After that, I started chatting with him. (I was unemployed, depressed, and bored, I needed a friend) Chatting eventually turned into texting, and texting into phone calls. Finally in June of 2009 on my week long trip to lake Jackson we started talking more. I ended up having surgery that month and was still unemployed, depressed, and now in a lot of pain recovering from said surgery. It was after talking to him on the phone for several hours every night that I realized something: I loved him. This scared me, because I had never actually met him, The only thing I knew about him was what I learned on the internet and from talking on the phone. How on earth could I love him? Was it even possible? I kept my feelings to myself, until one day, out of the blue he nonchalantly said "I love you" to which I replied "oh...um I love you too" I wasn't sure what this meant. I lived 8 hours (almost 700 miles) away from this guy. He lived in a town I had never heard of and had certainly never been to. What was I going to do? I started praying. I said, "God, if he is the guy for me, you are going to have to give me a sign. Something BIG that will tell me that this is something I need to be doing" That is when I decided "I should go visit him". After getting the blessing not only from my mom, but my daddy and meme (trust me, this is HUGE) I knew that this was meant to be. So we made the plans and began the count down. The 30 days that I had to wait to go on my trip were torturous. I wanted so badly to meet him, and I couldn't wait. So the night before my trip, knowing I had to get some sleep so I would be able to drive, I said good night to the guy whom by this point I was certain was my future husband and drifted off to sleep. The next morning I put my things in my car, said goodbye to my family, and started driving. The drive was SO long, I didn't have AC, and I was starting to get nervous. When I got to a town that was about a 1 hour 45 minute drive from Odessa, I panicked. I stopped at a gas station to freshen up, and then set in my car for 30 minutes trying to calm myself down. Then I began what seemed like the longest drive of my life from Big Spring to Odessa. I began growing anxious as I got closer to the location where I was meeting him. Then I pulled into the parking lot and saw him standing there, my "knight in shining armor" my "prince" the man of my dreams. We exchanged an awkward "hello" and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to shake his hand, or hug him, or kiss him. He, however had already decided to go in for the kiss. It was an awkward, off center kiss that landed half on my mouth, half on my cheek. As we were driving to dinner, and through out the whole meal, we sat there staring at each other and giggling like a bunch of school girls. The week was packed with activities that he had planned for us and I had a good time. I met his WHOLE family, which scared me silly. By the time my week was up, I knew in my heart that this was where I was meant to be. I called my family, told them that I was staying and that I would be there within the next month to get the rest of my belongings. I have been in Odessa for almost a year, and have been married to my best friend since February 5,2010. I think we have a neat story and I wouldn't change it for anything. I love my life and am truly blessed.

Midcities Picnic @ Sherwood Park 2010

We (Dan and Tab) enjoyed ourselves and had an awesome time at Midcities get-together @ Sherwood Park; featuring Whitehouse Meat Market's hamburgers, hot dogs, and spicy sausage. The hamburger was amazing and the sausage was super kickin' spicy, which was really great. Even the cookie afterwards was tasty. For the kids there were inflatable jumpers & balloon animals. It was really great that Chris and Stephanie also came out to the picnic. Me and Chris participated in a balloon toss, and seed spitting contest. For the balloon toss, me and Chris made it the 4th round or so with about 20 yards between us, until Chris threw one without much arc on it, and I didn't adjust to cradle it without popping right on my belly. For the seed spitting contest, Chris held the 2nd place spot for a significant amount of time, while I simply spit my seed and hit Chris. While I was disqualified, I felt like a winner. Overall, it was a really fun time, and cool to fellowship with some of our brother's and sister's in Christ.
